In recent decades, the Geometallurgy area has gained a leading role due to the good results obtained in characterization studies of mineral deposits. This scenario is not random, given that the work in the area has delivered interesting results by providing information capable of maximizing the economic value of a mineral deposit and minimizing technical and operational risk.
We know that the key parts of the value chain in mining are mainly: geology, mine planning, mineral processing, process metallurgy and waste management. Traditionally, these areas are separated in the mining production flow and there is little connection between them.
Geometallurgy was born to build a bridge between these different areas, this link provides information capable of reducing risks, improving production planning, in addition to being an entity capable of establishing fluid communication with other disciplines.
